Sketching was the first art medium I got deeply involved with. I consider it to be the foundation of every other medium. My oldest work started with a fascination with hyperrealism. I found the skill involved quite something to be beheld. I eventually came to the conclusion that although it is highly technically skilled, it’s the least creative art you could possibly be making. I slowly made the transition to something more towards illustration and higher creative thinking.

I often work in either charcoal or pencil, the ability to rub away leaves the potential for extreme contrast.
